Hey all, newbie here looking to join the ranks. The bike pictured below, is it an original single spark type or a twin spark? It's a little complex working out what's what with so many generation 1 late registered bikes about. 2011s that are actual 08s etc.

I'm looking for a twin spark ideally with better low rev behaviour.

Thanks in advance

Cheers, is it the colour scheme you base it on? I know the genuine 2011+ rc8rs have the orange frame and black swingarm so that confused me.

That's an original R model, which was produced 2009-10 (I have a 2009 one)

so that's the larger capacity (1190cc) but still single spark engine.

the first R's had the lightweight wheels, carbon front mudguard, lovely billet top yoke, highest spec WP suspension.

I'd take the 2009-10 RC8R over the later bike any day of the week!
Lighter crank, better wheels, better suspension.
The twin spark was just to aid low speed running.
I'm not sure that's correct - the second spark plug only kick in at >7k rpm (I think), so it's more about high speed rather than low speed...
