If I bought a bike fitted with a power commander and a non standard exhaust how difficult is it to get back to standard? The exhaust is just a 'slip on' can so that's not really a problem. It's the power commander does it replace the bike's ECU or just plug in to 'help 'it? Will I need to remap if I remove it and how can I tell if the bike needs remapping ( apart from rough running etc). I would prefer to run a standard bike for when I attend cycle events. There's a GTR 1400 for sale locally at a dealers and I want to be ready with some info, I know it's got these fitted from the advert.

It might be fine as is with slip on and PC, often the gains are in torque as well as a little bhp, so may make it smoother. however you could just put standard exhuast back on and see, or at worse put standard can on and visit dyno to retune.

the pc should ride piggy back to ecu, ie just plug in.
