Especially for you Al (Ranger), as you know a lot about Michelin mousses and of course for me as I use Michelin mousses since some years.

You probably know how much I like Slaven's and his profound technical knowledge and his ability to perform very accurate tests.

Take a look at the video and learn that Michelin Mousses just dont last long enough to be a competition for the new nitrogen injected Nuetech mousses. Please look at the very expressive, scientific test at about 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Just look and marvel!

I thought Michelin used nitrogen expanded butyl rubber too? Isn't/aren't they the same thing?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the new shiny skin on the Michelin is what restricted the bounce of the Michelin mousse to only ankle height. The nitro skinless mousse can flex more and ping back hence knee height.

What a weird test! Why not ride them back to back on a set route and use a stopwatch and riders comments?

Even if Michelin just uses air they will contain at least 78% nitrogen. There's too much fuss about nitrogen. Its nothing very special. Some people pay a lot to get their (car) tyres filled with nitrogen and think it must be good as in airplane tyres this is standard. They just dont kow the reason and a Volvo isnt a Jumbo jet :)

Even more blatent marketing than michelin:eek: go find someone with a well known name and pay him some money to say good things about your product, thats the way it is these days.

To be fair it is difficult to get anything about a mousse across on a video so they are trying to show it has more bounce than the michelin. Got to love Nuetech, there Tubliss ad used to slag off mousses but now they are making them no mention of mousses on there tubliss ad:frown:

Are these Nuetech mousses any good? only one way to find out, the same for a few other new to the market mousses. one thing is for sure it is possible to make longer lasting mousses than the current michelin, just make them the same way that michelin used to a few years ago, maybe that is what one of them has done.

Oh and do not put them in a steel shipping container out in the red hot Thailand sun because it makes the mousses swell and fall apart even quicker;)

I'd be keen to see if the Nuetech mousse actually has any different feel. It still won't be like air but let's wait and see, for those who love a mousses feel then they may be amazing.

What is interesting is that Nuetech have both areas covered. A copy Michelin mousse that apparently lasts twice as long (are they going to be twice the cost though) and also Tubliss. My Tubliss have done the best part of 400 hours now. If their mousse lasts like Tubliss does you'll only need one set for the time you own the bike!

Nuetech (at this point in time) have progressed where Michelin development appears to have stopped. Nuetech have a long way to go till Michelin will worry though.

Exciting times.

Intereseting link.
I personally think that most positive items listed there are utter bullshit, especially the one stating better milage but I am too lazy to explain why.

In aircraft tyres it is used for two reasons. The less important reason is corrosion. Corrosion is not reduced dramatically but at least about 20% better than with air filled tyres. The main reason is, that once the landing gear (undercarriage) is retracted and for any reason there is a fire in the wheel well or the lower part of the fuselage the tyres will either burst or depending on aircraft type the over temperature release mechanism (a bi metal plug bolted into the rim) will blow off the nitrogen. And we all(?) know that nitrogen can extinguish fire. At least it doesnt feed a fire with additional oxygen. Does that make sense?

Bib Mousse the same as knee brace , hidden product so not immediately obvious a rider is using your product ?
No ones really interested in a mix and match of tyre and mousse combo using one brand of tyre and another brand of mousse from a marketing point of view , If Gibson + X mousse and all the others are Serious they need riders of all abilitys getting good results and a decent dealer network to retail the product and make it l viable long term ..

Everyone knows that if a mousse is £100, there's atleast £130 quid profit in it !!!! :D
