Replaced the flywheel and stator. The sprague clutch is only about 60 miles old and looks perfect.
And it starts - but making exactly the same noise like a bag of clicking metal or just high speed spinning!! Although to me sounds like it’s on the other side of the engine to the flywheel.
taken back to flywheel to check all is ok - all looks great this time.
gone to take off the clutch side and can’t get the ruddy gear lever off - wth? I thought it was just one bolt holding it on - what am I missing so I can look at the state of the gear on that side of the engine???
