Just wondering what grips anyone can recommend, I know its only a set of grip at the end of the day but I may as well go for decent ones and try to avoid shite ones.

What's the half waffle over full waffle thing all about? !!!!

I’m a life fan of Renthal soft full diamond. They are the narrowest grips so reduce fatigue. Mega sticky. Trouble is the ends rip off easily in a crash. For general hooning and practice I use medium compound ones. They are tougher and take more abuse but still tacky and narrow.

No waffle grips for me. No lock on either. I’m a old fashioned lock wire lover.

Pro Taper pillows for me too. Reduces numbness and tingling which I suffer from due to HAVS.

Cheers guys, I've ordered the pro tapers grips, I run bark bashers so the ends of the grips will need to be cut off anyway, I don't mind lock wiring the grips, in a past life I had to lock wire loads of things anyway.

My new grips arrived today, they are a bit thicker than my old ones but that might be because my old ones were totally knackered and had worn really thin! Anyway cheers for your advice guys and gals! (Jeeze, that sounded like Jimmy Saville! )

Odi lock in grips for me, so much fucking about with lock wire is a waste of time, I’ve done 3 enduro events with the odi grips, absolutely brilliant, still like new!! They don’t break the bank and you have a selection of throttle cams included, it’s a no brainier[emoji106]
I hate them, cheap plastic crap and micro thin rubber JMHO

I think lock on are for those that can’t operate pliers with any degree of dexterity.

I don’t bother with glue though. Just a splash of brake cleaner in the grip and on the bars and they fly on and never move.

I know lock on grips don’t move either but you just know someone will over tighten that shitty little bolt and it’ll fail when you least need it to.

I DNF'd a time card 4 hours in due to throttle tube splitting on OEM ODI lock-ons. Switched back to ally tube & push-on grips.
Then got a new bike and didn't change them and clutch side broke out on an all dayer and had to ride for a few hours on the bar to finish the day.

Things I do when getting a new bike:
Remove standard lock-on grips and set fire to them.
Put ally throttle tube on with proper grips.
Fit a tank sock-filter.
Set the sag
