Review: 24mx Titanium Foot Pegs

After snapping my Apico pro bite pegs and just not getting on with a second hand set of raptors I bought, I decided to try the Twenty TiPeg Titanium pegs (I got the GP versions -5mm back -5mm lower).

These things are straight up amazing, the welding is top notch and completely on par if not a titchy bit better than Raptors, the teeth are crazy, they seem to just make my feet feel planted on them, easy reach of the gear/brake levers and they just lock my legs right into the correct body position.

They may be pricey for pegs at £115 but they are half the price of Raptors and every bit as good. I do have the fear, they may be a tad sharp and grippy for my Tech7s but we will see.

I bought a set of these after reading the above but I wasn't impressed and sent them back today without even fitting them. Just getting them out of the box, I'm not impressed with the quality.

The welding in places is good, but the cross-shaped centre section is barely attached. Its also raised at that centre cross-section; putting the peg upside down on a table, it rocks around on the high point.

So they are going back. I'll stick with my standard KTM ones I reckon. Never had a problem with them, just fancied a bit of bling I suppose.

On Sunday I rode a mates bike with some aftermarket larger pegs on it and didn't even notice them.

Adding a little weight to the Wider Pegs Are Better. The Yamaha Wr250 2016 comes with pegs, as stock the same, poss wider then my aftermarket Raptors (I will measure them). The Raptors dig into the soles - that's a plus, riding over harsh terrain where a boot can be bounced off a peg. Riding stock pegs has me thinking about my boot slipping off the peg.

No ones ever said Raptors don't wear out. They can be sharpened and the quality is there. Even Knighter has not managed to break one!

They don't cost as much as people think either. Ring Raptor up and get a price as they website is not clear.

I think the 24mx ones are worth the cash though if Raptors are still too much. They are just crude Raptor copies - that's a credit to Raptor really.

I know I'll replace my Raptors with more when the time comes.

I bet your feet never slipped of the pegs though?

All agressive pegs will eat boot soles, the more you use your feet/legs to control the bike the worst it gets. My tech 7s are quite munched after 15 hours but I can replace the munched bits easy enough. My trials boots however don't get worn by aggressive pegs. I put this down to the knobbly sole to start with, the problem is while you have more control you have less protection.

I think it is about time the acu clamped down on this, there is no need for such agressive teeth on foot pegs, its not just the daft for fitting them rider that could get carved up by it, in a crash/pile up any other rider could get caught up on them.

I wonder what would happen if someone did get badly hurt by one and one of these blaim/claim firms got on to it, they deserve one another IMO

Yes I certainly do, My next post would be whilst they are at it make riders fit sprocket guards, most bikes have the throttle on the right and the chain drive on the left, bike goes down and quite often the throttle is twisted leaving the bike on its side revving with the sprockets spinning round just waiting for another rider to join the pile up and land on the bike with his fingers in the sprockets:eek:

Before someone suggests I am some kind of health and safety gone mad kind of person all I can say is come and work with me!

Its just the foot rests and sprocket guards are easy fixes that could save a lot of pain
