The bike transport is so important, make sure you make him promise its drop off to the start and pick up from the finish - otherwise you are screwed. I'm considering joining too again this year and would prefer to fly in a few days before and do some riding there to get used to the landscape.

Yes, this is exactly what I am thinking although I would then be trusting that they are taking the bike back to a workshop to change oil and air filter. I dont want that hassle, nor do I want to have to worry about where I am securing the bikes over night.
2 days riding before so I can get used to a full size KTM and the landscape as I run a modified BETA Xtrainer and a 200RR here in the UK.

Where are the GPS units from? I noticed the riders have 2 on the bike.
