Sold my 3 bike trailer a few days ago. Now sold my '01 KTM 200 EXC to the same bloke. Really wanted to get it all back together after doing it in, but work and lack of time meant it just wasn't happening. Bloody gutted now....it's just gone tonight for £650, and that included my chucking in a load of plastics and other bits I'd bought to do it up. Oh well, such is life I guess - what with 4 kids and being self-employed....and sailing too close to the wind on may riding occasions, it just had to go.

Anyone else ever felt like this....sick?

Cheers fellas. Always light at the end of the tunnel......and for some stupid reason I'm looking at other bikes at the moment......must stop it......at least until I've finished building the extension on the back of the house, and have got a better paid job (might happen one day). Good idea spending some of the money on the kids. 16 year old has just started college...maybe I should bung a hundred in her bank account, and treat the others to something.

For some daft reason I still keep going over i my mind how much worse my off could have been, and how stuffed we would have been if I'd had to have time off work. Stupid init. I just want to get on a bike now........bugger off across the desert on a bleedin' great KTM Adventure R....that'll be my dream for tonight.....big bike, camping gear packed, setting up camp somewhere, brewing a cuppa and sitting by a fire, chomping on a load of barbecued meat.......

From reading what all your mates here on the forum have been saying......I got the impression that you were well shot of some unreliable fire hazard POS. You must be well relieved:rotflmao:

Shanes, if theres any way I can help... House sitting, bike sitting.. Whatever. Just say the word. I hate to see a bloke suffer like that.

Theres only one vehicle that I sincerely regret selling. Most things are replaceable. But I sold a mint condition RX3 savannah coupe with a 300hp+ Jport B in it, and I know I'll never have another. Permanent scarring. :(

But there are plenty of bikes out there Pedroski. You'll have another when the time is right. Chin up.

Why don't you get a bike in Jakarta? Kymco make some brilliant bikes that would give your collection in Spain a run for their money :)

True. New day today, and things feeling better. Beside, I had something of a love/hate relationship with my bike. At times I just wanted rid of it. And at other times I wanted to caress it. It's cost me a lot of money, but now it's over. I suppose it's like getting divorced from some really fit but irritating chick! Looking forward now to what the future holds :) Cheers.

I couldnt think of anything i would want less than 100k tied up in a bike that depreciates faster than a Maybech. But everyone to there own! Its a nice garage you have Shanes but if you only get to look at it in pictures for most of the year is it worth it?

I have the S1000RR still, i just want it gone as it hasnt turned a wheel for 2 months now due to the weather. Im desperate to get a KTM SMC so i can at least use it when its raining, rain doesnt bother me on the S1000RR but the 190 bhp at the back wheel and the throttle like a toggle switch tends to get in the way of any fun too be had.

It has a rain mode setting which as far as i can tell is designed to just spit you off not quite as fast as the other 3 modes, so you hit the hedge/ditch/tractor/bus/tree a little bit slower.

Shanes, don't suppose you have a position for someone who is skilled in geochemical sampling and contaminated land, and specialises in measurement uncertainty and stuff? Just finished my D.Phil....and looking for work in the field.
