I have recently noticed what appears to be an exhaust blowing sound near the rear cylinder header. It appears to be eminating from where the pipe does its sharp bend before joining the front header.
I have looked as best I can for any holes (bike has only done 9,000 miles & is nearly 3 years old - although used everyday for commuting), but cannot see any, and the pipes get too hot too quickly to 'feel' for a leak.
I have ordered the graphite ring and header joints so that I can strip it down and check more thoroughly.
But I have noticed (for the first time), that the rear header glows red hot when engine is running. The front doesn't seem to.
Is this normal, or could there be other issues that are making the pipe too hot and then destroying thr joints?
