A few questions about a 950SM:

What is the best way to remove the bottom bearing from the triple clamp?

Searching through the forum, partially cutting the bearing with a Dremel followed by a chisel seems to be favourite.

How do you get the shells out of the headstock?

There was a good series on garagenight.tv but the video content seems to have been removed.

I did have the bearings replaced a couple of years ago by a garage but looking at them today, the shells are all pitted and I don't think were replaced when the garage did the bearings which is a bit annoying.

Bearing on clamp as above - Notch it with a dremel or grinder then a swift hit with a chisel and hammer to break it - Keep hold of it to drift the new bearing back on. As for those in the headstock tube just punch them out with a hammer and drift. Again keep them to drift back in the new ones. Make sure you really pack the bearings with grease when you put them back in. Hope that helps
