Update & orange throttle tube

So the recent random idle seems to be sorted, since I adjusted the TPS & idle speed stepper motor so I thought I'd try and mess things up by fitting the 'progressive' orange throttle tube.

I believe the bike was supplied with the black (linear) tube fitted but with the orange (progressive) one included. I didn't get given it when I bought the bike.

ÂŁ19 and in stock at my local dealer, KTM Centre in Hemel.H.

Fitting was a complete piece of piss, it's in the workshop manual, taking no chances I used TuneECU to zero the throttles first.

Black one off, orange one on:

Did about 100 miles on Sunday and it was superb. Really makes a big difference to the initial throttle response

What I wasn't expecting was how it improved the off-throttle response as well. A welcome surprise.

It's now completely happy trundling through 30 & 40 limits in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, beautifully smooth and the best it's ever been. It's really properly rideable.

In fairness the bulk of that is down to the work BSD did remapping it. But the orange throttle is the icing on the cake.

Well worth ÂŁ19, colour me ORANGE

Next up:

Got some new tyres on order (Michelin Power 5's)

Ordered some spares to tackle the leaking water pump seal.

Hopefully get away on it for a weekend sometime in September.
