I was asked by Shandy41 about posting pictures on the forum without using an external hosting site. He wanted to do a bike build thread that would be pic heavy so I asked the question and was told about the ‘Album‘ feature.

It is possible to create an album from within your own profile settings and upload a maximum of 100 pictures into each album. Then you can insert a link to the album from the post. Although you will not see the pictures displayed in the post if you click on the link then you will be redirected to the album where you can scroll through the pictures. This could be a good feature for anyone who wants to upload a lot of pictures in one thread.

Below is a link to a test album that I have created to give an example.
A midget porn filter has been applied so if any pictures of naked people less than 36” tall are detected then the user account gets vaporised.

There’s probably a few bits I’ve not worked out yet but here you go and I’ll update as I find out more.

It seems that you have to be a registered member to viewed an album even if the album is set as ‘Public’

Great although the midget porn clause could have repercussions

I've just got scared.
I've always used Photobucket IMG copy but it's linking to my whole Photobucket album
How do I only up-load a single image?

I've got nothing dodgy to hide but don't like the thought of the whole album being on view even though they are only photos I've used to put on websites, not all my pics.

You need to create 2 albums in Photobucket, one public that you link to and one private for all the midget porn.

Can do that regardless for 99% of photobucket or flickr etc. - unless you make the album private at the source you just look at the single photo path and see what else is in there.

Case in point:

Didn't you kind of disturb those folks picnic?... ;)

Hosting images within the Forum seems like a good idea to me (if I have understood things correctly!).

My system tells let me not use the suggested image host, as apparantly it has been used by paedophiles & worse, so I have always used Photobucket (URL).
PB can seem a bit clunky at times though - can take ages to upload any larger image files & then may deny at the last minute.

So it would be good to just be able to select an image from my Gallery, adjust to a pre-agreed size, then drag & drop into a post. Hopefully this can spread across other bike Forums (Fora?) too.

Cheers ........................... KEN

The forum that KK set up could transfer direct from your own PC photo library if I recall correctly.
Photobucket is a pain on the ipad as I can't stand Tapatalk (and it won't let me back in either).
It seems to be difficult to copy the IMG file and by the time I go back with my photos, the KTM forum reply box has wiped itself clear.
