Does anyone have any advice on reducing vibration thro the handlebars, getting to a point where arm pump is getting gradually worse, I ride every weekend, race a few enduros a year!
and b4 anyone suggests it…….I’ve tried man up pills, didn’t work 🤪
Looking down the route of phds mounts/inserts/flex bars, cheers guys

That was/is me. Filling bars with silicone sealant cuts vibes by a true 50%. Tested on the equipment used to test vibes on power tools. I have done this on every bike l have owned in last 20 years. You just need the sealant, gun and some pvc pipe to go over threaded end of silicone tube. Pipe needs to be length of bars - start at furthest end, pump and slowly draw out the pipe so you get it uniformly filled with no air pockets.

1. Sell your 4T and get a 2T 250.

2. Armpump is usually from riding style or start of season/after er riding break or tight fascia in your underarm flexors. Vibrations is more often the cause of tingling or numbning in hands.

3. PHDS does take a bit of the vibration, tighten them after spec or they wont work.

I suffer with HAVS so really feel any vibration. As above PHDS with green elastomer(softest), fill the bars with silicone, Pro taper pillow grips and don’t grip too tight. Fresh tampon at the start of a race helps considerably😂😂😬.

Exactly what I do. Although the tampon swells and I can't get it out me bum...

PHDS and Pillow top grips for me on all bikes. I even use pillow tops on my trials bikes. I'm gutted they have changed them to the shite clamp on ones so I've stockpiled some.

I went the silicone route but won't bother again.

This is for carpal tunnel though (complete numbness in the hand). The true and immediate fix was surgery. Now my other hand is going so I'll need that too.

As above, arm pump is quite simply caused by relying on the relatively weak and small muscles in your forearms instead of using legs, abs, and body position. You see all sorts of bollocks about hydration and special ointments etc. But it's just the "pump" you get with any muscle when you do lots of reps in a short space of time.

For the TPI I just bought a new throttle tube, lhs goes straight on the bar as normal. 350 had heated grips fitted so I cut off the grip carefully and fitted pillows. These are lock on so I imagine the previous owner cut the original grips off.

Thanks for the replies guys……I’ll defo look into the pillow grips, any particular model to get??
ship….have you got any more install info/pics for the pvc pipe method on the bars? I’m Gona try that 1st, what pipe did you use, flexible cleaning conduit? I’ll then look into the phds mounts if needed💪 Hopefully not 👌

No, sorry .... all you need (apart from silicone and the gun/applicator) is some of that transparent flexible pvc pipe youcan get by the meter in homebase/bnq. Get the diameter that fits the threaded end of the silicone tube. The pipe l got was a good fit, but l cable tied it as well. The pipe is the length of tbe bars .... feed it in, then pump and slowly draw it out till bar is full. Insert any handguard fixings before it sets.

Funny u should
Mention the gloves, I’ve thought about that, mine are are a little on the tight side, I’ve even blamed my body armour jacket also 😂😂
Hi m open to all suggestions mate, money doesn’t come into it when it’s regarding your aches/pains 😬

Looks like I have a bung either side of the bars, isit still worth filling that up with silicone? Suppose I got nothing to lose, used my legs more today, big improvement💪
off topic………..
don’t suppose any1 knows who was selling the Ktm tool kits the other day?

I suffered for year on every bike, 2 stroke and 4 stroke. Even had carpel tunnels op. I tried everything, silicon filled bars, etc. PHDS like isolated bars did make a little difference. The step change.....2018 counter balanced TPI's! Still occasionally suffered but vibe frequency and level was night and day difference. The downside is I should really stick to now riding those bike only, but still like to by 4 strokes too

That’s the plan hopefully this year/next year, new bike, will definitely look down/and ask for any advice on what to get, honestly tho…..what a difference just changing up my riding style, went out yesterday(woods/quarry) used my legs hell of a lot more than usual, hands could easily do a further 3 hours riding, Steg pegs might benifit me maybe, anyone recommend them?
I’ve ordered new grips/pillow tops, Gona hold off on the phds mounts for now, silicone is in the bars, see when that sets, if it helps! If not I’ll look at getting phds!
