Hi, I've been asked to write my annual letter to Santa already . I've been a good boy most of the year, and was going to put some body armour on my list. Can you guys recommend me some please ? I quite fancy the Leatt airfit 3DF ! I am a 48in chest, and was hoping someone else my size has experience of these please ?

Another for the Leatt. Bloody superb. You don’t know you have it on and when you take a tumble it seems to work.

When I got mine the chest and back plate vent holes didn’t line up - probably not supposed to but I drilled them out for more air flow. This was a great help and you don’t get hot.

I’ll be buying another one for sure.

Likewise Santa needs to know what I would like and I have been so good.
So which Leatt armour would you have given a free hand. Anyone have the 5.5 stuff is any good or a bit cumbersome. Or is the lite stuff adequate. So many different types it all a bit confusing.
I’m also looking for some additional padding round the tailbone area the Leatt shorts seem not to have much in that area. Any one got any of the Leatt ones? Any good.

I run the Alpinestars GP Pro hard armour one for years, was ok with it... just fancied a change and something cooler had less bulky. The Fox one looks like a copy paste of that A* one before they went to the bionic range (mrs has the bionic one, decent bit of kit)... the Leatt 5.5 looks like a refined version of that, did look closely at it... but it was too much like the one I had, so went with the 3DF Lite.

All of the above are good... the 3DF is more protective than it looks, armour goes stiff when you try to pierce it. Not bounced myself into woods wearing it but landing on a branch will hurt either way. Sod’s law says you’ll cop it somewhere sore anyway. [emoji3061][emoji1]

I’m more concerned with shoulder protection these days. When I come off I seem to clobber my shoulders every time but may be the 3df might be a bit more forgiving. The hard stuff transmits the shock load straight to your body I have found.

I think I’m going to give the 3df a go may have a look at the hybrid version might offer a bit more protection on rocks.
