Hi guys,

Time has come to replace the oil of the front forks.
Does anyone have a service manual for them?

Cheers,

George.

There's definitely a link to the manual on here somewhere mate. I'll see if I can find it.

cheers for that, you're an ace!
Now...does anybody know how much oil is it necessary?
Or do I have to measure the old one?

RC8 08/09/10 Air gap is 80 mm..... 11/12 is different.
Use Motorex 5wt fork oil - One litre will be enough. Don't be tempted to try a different make of oil as from my experience, you would need to change your settings afterwards so it's easier to go with the Moterex which is standard fitment
You will need to remove the cap and spring to get the air gap, so will need a spring compressor to do this.

Yes, not too hard... Just take your time and have the correct tools to hand
so that would be some bits o' string to tie the spring down, pipe wrench to hold the fork cap and molegrips to undo the lock nut. Job done! :D

Well, with those being said about compressing the spring and stuff...it seems that the 2 forks are not much alike...
Meaning the one in the manual and the RC8 fork...

Because in the manual you only need a spanner to remove the spring...

I haven't read the manual. Is it RC8 specific?

I have changed the fork oil on my RC8 2008 model [twice] and I needed to use a compressor...

wouldn't it be easier if I measured the old oil that got out?
