Thanks for that but can't really work it out I wrote the frame and engine numbers down the frame number is ktmy001*77516* and the engine number is 2-546*01352 if any one can help please

 

Not sure, does the bike have a log book, if so do the numbers on the bike match whats on the log book?

 

No its not got a log book its an off road bike think I'm best just leaving it thanks for your help

 

The engine number looks ok and would be for a 250 from either 1992 or 2002, the chassis looks more like one of the earlier codes but would only seem correct if the that 'y' was a 9 which would make it a 1990. Does it look like a 1990 model?

 

Hi there iv just look at the 1990 models on line and it look like them apart from the plastics look a bit newer and I fort the y was a 9 so maybe its ok and not stolen

As he said in the first post his is a 12 digit vin. KTM didn't use the 17 digit vin until 96 i think. Helpful vid though, just not to him.

I have the same kind of vin as you and I really can't find much information either on how to read my vin and find out what year mine is.

 

Can anyone here tell me how I can read my 13 digit vin please it is KTM8807*62240
