Just got myself a 07 990, and I am looking to fit Sat nav, a cig lighter accessory socket, a usb socket, and heated grips.

Any particular pitfalls to look out for?
I beleive that there are two spare feeds by the headlight one switched and one permenat live. I was thinking of using the switch for the heated grips, and the other for the sat nav, but unsure where to connect in the lighter socket and usb, I would like both on a permanant feed its either that or direct from the battery.
So looking for advice really, from any who has done similar or come accross problems. Tks.

Nope, it's as straight-forward as it sounds! I can't remember which is switched and which isn't of the two supplies, but a quick check with a meter will soon tell you.

I had to upgrade the fuse in the switched supply from 5 to 10A as this also feeds the carb heaters on a 950, but I'm not sure as to whether it feeds anything else on a 990. I wouldn't go above a 10A fuse though on either feed.

I ran a cigar socket from the permanent live and use a dual USB connector - one for my GPS and the other for my phone charger, and then when I want to charge my battery I just plug my Optimate in there instead of the USB.

I did the same, wire up from the battery via an inline fuse to a relay tucked away under the cubby box, switched on by the ACC2 feed.

Relay feeds my symtec heated grips and an additional 12v socket installed inside the cubby box

ACC1 is permanent supply

ACC2 is switched by the ignition

I was fairly sure that ACC2, would be fine for the grips, and I believe that the grips are already fitted with the correct terminals to just plug in.
Everything else I am fitting is individualy fused its just not sure how much current I and can draw over AAC1, and I want the Sat Nav on permenant, along with the two charging sockets on a live feed, at most I would have, sat nave, iphone and ipad charging at the same time

I bought this little lot from Black Dog.

KTM 990 Adventure

Wired up the Fuzeblock to the battery with the circuit breaker on the live line into the block and put them in the cubby box above the tank. Then hooked up the switched voltage into the spare switched feed behind the lights. Then I wired up the USB socket and Symtec grips into the Fuzeblock.

Still have space for another 4 power outputs - planning on putting some of the Rigid Industries auxiliary lights in after putting a switch in on the power line for the lights, plus wiring in an easy access hook up somewhere under the seat for my tyre inflator.

Sad I know :O

I have done very similar on my 1100gs, I ran a heavy feed to a fuse box direct from the battery and then run all of the permanant acessories from the fuse box, I could do the same with a box in the cubby hole between the tanks, but I was looking to try and avoid that, and wire direct into the bike loom.
