Hi all, l have just got a brand new 250f freeride but seems under powered. In tbe kit they give you a 12 teeth sprocket and a throttle mapping washer has anyone fitted these ? if so is it worth doing ?

Hello & Welcome drop'

My Peneth worth.....

My partner had 2014 Freeride (standard) from brand new and I had 2014 250exc 2T (standard power spring) from brand new. Having ridden both, back to back, the only difference I could tell power/performance wise; was that first gear was lower on the Freeride, the rest was exactly the same. Obviously I can not say whether things have changed over the four years up to your model.

Ditto what BigDaddyAdz said. Mine came with 12 tooth fitted and I have no idea what a throttle mapping washer is (I certainly never got one) unless you mean the throttle cam. It goes as fast as I'd want to go on road with off road tyres (70ish) and on the rocky trails I ride it has proved itself excellent so far. It's more like a trials bike than an MX bike tho so not sure what you were expecting. Give it a chance, I'm sure you'll realise 26bhp is enough for most occasions. :D

all good points. I ride a GS1200 front wheel lives in the air. I have a little issue with the throttle and yes I changed the throttle cam to make it more responsive. I dont want to rev it too much as its brand new and only done 11 miles so could still be a little tight. If I have the bike on tick over and go to give it some throttle from nothing to full it just cuts and dies. I have removed the sissy orange band around the air filter as most people say this helps it. I have drilled the silly mufflers out the end of the exhaust as well. Still having issues with the cutting out ? any ideas would be good thanks

Mine can cut out when cold but not once warmed.
Did your dealer prep it for you? Triple D did mine and even ran it for the first hour then changed the oil and filter. When I collected it Neil told me to just ride it normally. I may be wrong but I think they come homologated at 20bhp (emissions??), Neil told me it was all derestricted (26bhp) and ready to go.
It might be a long shot but could yours still be at 20bhp??

No not yet, l have KTM on the case and was promised a reply by lunch time today but still waiting. Derbyshire off road have picked it back up they have been fair l guess. I have even offered to change it to a 250 exc and suffer the loss of insurance chage etc. Will post an update as soon as l know. I have booked into a little trial next weekend l have already lost last weekends money.
