Kill switch fault - switch fine, Any ideas?

Kill switch got a bit intermittent on.my FE350, then as good as failed - or so I thought.

Assumed it was shit in switch and bought new one, only to discover its something else.

Also now noticed horn not working (same switch assy) so thinking downstream connector broken or even snapped wires in loom.

Hard to see where wires go, it plugs in behind headlight and then wires run into a bit of loom that runs right to back of bike with other wires coming in and out of it.

Anyone had similar and / or got any ideas to try, otherwise its chop open loom to follow wires or buy new loom and hope it fixes it.

Fuses good BTW.

Assumed kill swith just would earth something out, but looks like more complexity (than fucking needed)

We have a 2017 450 EXC, where the kill switch stopped working. I traced the wires back and there was a break near the steering head. Rejoined broken cable and been good since.

Yes the KTM loom colours are different to the switch's cable, as that's not made by KTM, so all the colours change at the connector behind the headlight. I 'think' KTM loom ground wires are all brown.

Cheers, I will go poking about some more.

The wiring diagram was not much help, the fucking colours on the wires in the switch are different to what it states in the manual, but I cannot figure out where these wires all go after the first connector block.

On most bikes, the kill switch and the horn switch both earth out their circuits. So in all probability, you have a bad earth to the switch, which could be a brown wire if I remember correctly?
