I have been installing a GET ECU and at first, it was working ok, then I decided to set the TPS. There are a few different methods to do this but the one I tried goes as follows. You have the engine off, take the diagnostic plug under the seat, and short 2 of the wires, this is supposed to wake up the bike and prime the fuel pump but with the engine off. Then you can connect the Wi-Fi com device to your phone and begin the TPS calibration process. I connected one end of a small piece of wire to the first pin and without connecting to the second, the fuel pump fired up and one of the relays started clicking. This seemed odd, why would just touch one pin cause the fuel pump to prime? I hadn’t connected the 2 pins.
The problem now is the bike won't start, when pressing the start button, the bike turns over, but the fuel pump doesn’t prime. If I touch the pin on the diagnostic port in the same way as before, the pump will prime, and I can start the bike. The bike runs well once started. I’ve swapped back to the original ECU and still have the same issue.
I’ve tested the fuel pump relay by shorting that to the ground and it primes, so I know the full pump and repay are ok.
Why won't the bike start on the button?
