I would take them to your local bearing supplier. I doubt that they are anything special as the motors are used by lots of different companies.

 

Good idea but I had to destroy the bearing getting it out, It is difficult to measure as I can not get the vernier calipers in to measure the OD of the bearing I think the bearing measure as follows: 18.5 OD x 12.5 ID x 18.5 long.

 

Simply bearings online should do something

 

Thanks Stuart but I had already found them online, the bearing actually measures in imperial 1/2x11/16x1/2.

I ordered a bearing and seal at 4pm on Monday and it arrived at 8am next day!

Can you send a link as I didn't realise the older ones were an imperial measurement and I am going to rebuild my friends one soon!

I got them from Simply bearings as you suggested, thanks for the information.

I actually fitted a plain oilite bush as the amount of crap that gets into the starter rots out the needle bearings in no time

Great service and good price, approx £6 for bearing and seal.

They had the right imperial size on there then?
So 2009 had a bushing not a needle bearing? Do they do the bearing the same size?
I don't get issues like that as I have don't the 'wet mod' and stops
any crap getting in there!

Mine had a needle bearing as standard but I decided to fit a plain oilite bush, this will be able to stand the crap that gets into the motor better than a needle bearing.

The size is 1/2id x 11/16od x 1/2long.

Simply bearings should Be able to supply either the needle bearing or the oilite bush.
