Tall Rider Mods- What have you done?

I know this has been covered before but thought there might be more options out there now. Just interested to hear what other tall riders have done to modify their bike and how much it's helped? I'm 6ft5 and 15stone (95kg) riding a 09 Excf250. So far I've put a tall seat on and 30mm bar raisers, running the bars a tiny bit rolled forward. Still not feeling 100% comfortable yet. I might try moving the fork height around a little so see if that has any effect? I'm thinking about forking out for some lower foot pegs, seems to be a few options out there, I'm tempted by the fastway pegs but would be good to hear if it's worth it? Cheers

I took a leaf out if David Knight’s book and swapped my (300)EXC bars for the lower SX ones to force me more into the attack position... I’m 6ft and about the same fully kitted. He’s a good few inches taller than me, Chris Birch also runs a similar setup and he’s really tall.

I feel more comfortable on the SX bars but one of my mates is built like the Jolly Green Giant and he runs risers on his 450SX-F. Worth trying both in my opinion.

I had higher bars on my fe350 when I bought it, but advised to swap to standard for better control which I think helped.

Maybe not as comfy when stood up doing a Charlie Mcboring impression, but think I am more confident so glad changed.

Heated grips, nav mount, kriega tail bag are my trail mods, also fitted indicators in hope it reduces chances of being rear ended by some twat on road.

Even got large no plate to appease the feds and fly under radar, plod always stare much longer at mates bikes and barely give mine second glance.

Chris Birch does a good vid on this on the Astra bars web site. Knighter has said the same. Don’t use high bars! It moves your ass and shoulders back and doesn’t help. I followed the advice and changed to Pro Taper Carmichael bars after husky bars and risers. Carmichael are mega low and flat. Yes your weight is more forward but they are lower which gives you space and the straightness kicks elbows up and out. Renthal 999 are also lowish but the bars sweep back and make them feel like road race clip ons.

I'm 6'2 and use Renthal fatbar in enduro bend. Also make sure your sag is set correctly, although in the past I have intentionally set the sag wrong to bring the rear end down for harder events, works well for extreme.

All in all the height issue has never bothered me much, the exc is a tall bike anyway.
