Ordered one for my Christmas for my 2023 300SX… TBI kit with medium head (high not advisable for soft sand), ERM (impractical and risky to ship the ECU from UAE to Oz), also comes with the bits and pieces plus an iridium plug.

You get one map with the ERM and others available to download at a cost. There’s also Pro and Pro+ options for access. V2 firmware comes with basic tuning included. Can adjust fuel, ignition and PV in increments 0-30 and WOT ranges. Pro gives you power commander level resolution, Pro+ gives you the sort of access best left for dyno experts.
Going to download the MX map for green and have a tinker with the white one.

Notes say head gives 1.2mm squish with a 0.6mm head gasket… will need to baseline and test… will also need to order some gaskets just in case. 🤪 I think when ordering their heads they ask for the squish up front… but in the rush to get my order in before they shut for the features (and Mrs Claus changes her mind…🤭) I’d forgotten to ask them that in my TQs about the kit and remote support. 🙃

Biggest blocker will be getting the gaskets before middle to end of January if it’s miles off. Waiting on the local KTM dealer coming back and will figure it out / panic buy before Friday. 😅😅😅

Their kits look like the bollocks and the ERM looks like a cool tuning tool… will have fun messing about with it. 🤓

Updates and feedback to follow here… 🥳🎅🏻✊💨💨💨

Kit all updated, uploaded, backed up and synced. Module looks cool, really trick. Will get the head on tomorrow when I’m less rough. 😎

Went with the MX map pack… a harder, crisper green map and a fatter white map (original is ok but a bit flat…). Hard to tell revving it on the stand but it sounds good, revs well. Crisp and keen. 😎

Pro version is another $75 AUS. Might go with it to get the 20% increment adjustments… play about with adding a little more fuel for WOT stuff, not just +1/2 >50%.

Will get the head on and see what it’s like…😎

Got the head on… no more difficult than any other head / smoker… just kept running out of brains/momentum/steam on account of… sitting up till 4am drinking and playing with my new headphones (fun at the time 😂) and the bat cave being an absolute 💩 tip…

A box of abandoned tools from fixing the truck, a couple of boxes of car parts and consumables, Christmas paper and the boxes stuff came in, a half built trials bike and the rest in boxes… tools everywhere in between from that and prepping the bike in a hurry to ride the other week there. Shambles. 🤗🥴😅

That aside… 😅 the new head is a little more compression, smaller volume, gives 1.2mm squish with the stock 0.6mm base gasket. Neatly machined and finished.

Starts and sounds cleaner, can hear it and feel it. Took it for a few runs around the block once warmed up, certainly a lot stronger. Green map and the head make it a lot more aggressive, punches hard but it’s nice. More instant. White map is between the old white and green maps. It’s also much stronger but nice. The original white map was ok but a bit flat.

Bike now has a similar feel to the 300SXS CDI and red spring setup, white map dials it back just enough. Feels great. See what it’s like over a proper ride but early indications are positive. 🤘😎

First proper ride today… ~110km or so. 0-500m altitude range. TSP MX4 map. 60:1 mix.

Super 98 on the way there… Special 95 on the way back… then saw after I’d filled up the other side has Super now. 😒 Their maps are optimised for 98 but can run 95 with the medium comp head. It didn’t like the 95 as much though.

White map was better than the stock one which is ok but a bit flat. More useful maybe try a little more advance and PV on it. See how it goes it’s a softer version of their green map.

Green map was good on the hard going but in the dunes it made most sense mid-top. Good on long climbs, didn’t have to stab it. Rest of the time it was only coming hard to life when it was time to short shift. Felt like the old 300SXS CDI soft map and less advance than the stock TBI green map.

Good but missing the bark the stock green map and my other smokers had on first throttle. Feels like it’s been tweaked for dry hard pack MX. Would be great for ADMX… needs more initial punch for my liking in the soft sand. Winds on too easy then steps out in stealth mode on the pipe. Fun if waiting for it… 3rd/4th gear weaving between dunes, not so much. 🥴😅

Did some testing afterwards when I got home on the scrub nearby… running in basic tuning mode with the 30/100 and 50/100 throttle position and RPM windows

After some trial and error went +2 and +1 on advance for 30% and 100% respectively. Tried adding fuel there, didn’t like it. Added +1 fuel for mid-max RPM and 100% (WOT) based on their tuning notes as running in the desert mostly.

Feels more familiar on those advance settings. Range is +3/-5 for tuning advance. Comparatively I’d say the old 300SXS map is like +3 and +2. It’s more aggressive

Limited testing on the last bit as too close to the side of the road out the back of me. 🤪 Will play with it some more one day I’ve got time to do some desert loops

Overall happy… good kit, tightly machined head and options to tweak on the fly/test and flash. 😎

I reckon you’ll learn to like that softer lead into the power. You’ll be able to be more aggressive early and carry more momentum and speed. It won’t feel as edgy but it will be faster if you were timing a loop.

Sounds like a good investment.

Deffo… if our local MX track ever reopens it’ll be great there, it’s dry, dusty and slick also. Ridden the track once on the 300SX when it was briefly reopened for the MX Academy day. The stock green map was a bit much on first tap, rode it mostly in the white one. Their settings will be great for that.

The discerning TPi owner throws big lumps of cash at it nowadays to get the £10k dream machines to work instead of scratching about in old tins in manky sheds to get the right brass out. That and van trips back to dealers for map changes if required. It’s a different world out there now for these new age 2t bods.

Suspension set up? I think in the US you can order a Beta with the right springs etc. Not necessarily UK. You’d have to pay the dealer to change them.

All bikes should be available to order sprung correctly for the person spending the cash. Stark come sprung for your weight.
