hi all

I was doing an oil change on the 690 earlier, as the bike was on the stand I thought I’d just warm the engine up on the stand and go up and down the gears a bit. Anyway it was a bit rocky so I turned it off to go take it for a spin . I noticed a code on the dash F1A85 and the engine light came on. A quick google says something on the abs!, I thought it was just because the rear wheel was spinning and the front was stationary. I turned the bike on off a few times and took the bike for a spin . Everything works ok but the engine light has stayed on ? I’ve checked everything and there’s on leaks or something broke.

I was going to buy one if these odb readers for about £30 off eBay to plug in and clear the fault, will this work or should I just take it to the dealers computer?!

On the plus side the oil change was very easy!![emoji16]

Thanks

I would be tempted to disconnect the battery and leave it for half an hour to try and reset everything.

You are also likely to need an adapter cable to link the OBD2 dongle to the loom. These guys are the leaders and they sell good dongles too.

It's unlikely that you will be able to clear the fault code with home type software. A dealer may need to do it.

Yeh , I’m kicking myself that I didn’t just ride the thing around the block , which I did anyway [emoji2369][emoji85], nob Ed!!

I’ll ring the dealer tomorrow

I’ve disconnected the battery for now and I’ll see if that resets it if not , dealer[emoji23][emoji106]
