I think you took that tyre off far to early Slugger ........I reckon it would of lasted atleast another 100 yards :D
it was fuckin lethal....sliding everywere

put it up for sale on the back end of a few beers over the weekend, following 3 heavy falls in Normandy over the weekend. Loads of people telling me that I had bought the wrong bike and was too powerful for my experience.

Now I have sobered up and licked my wounds I am thinking that I need to persevere with this as for 3/4 of the time I think I did quite well. My thoughts are that the tyres were wrong for the conditions, i.e. oem Maxxis when the conditions were wet mud and grass and perhaps another tyre would have faired better. I think my pressure was too high at 15psi, maybe 10 would have been better. I am thinking then of changing the tyres, G2 cam and using a smaller rear sprocket maybe 45.

Was it the low speed stuff that caught you out where the power came on to sharply ?

Its never easy learning all the off road skills on a big bike but that doesn't mean its not possible :)
flat, straight, level but very wet and muddy.I was standing up weight over the front, 20 - 25 mph and the front just totally washed out in a split second and i'm on my arse. it could have been the power I really don't know.

Got some carbon fibre goodies for mine today, waiting for rally raid tensioner, front disc and new pads to come next.

Picked my engine up from Kevinyorks tonight , just need to get the top end sorted and the 576 will live again! Maybe....

How come you need replace a disc pal

I let my brother who has a 250exc-f have a go on my RFS 450exc whilst out laning today and I followed on his bike. He managed to get through the ford but I'm unsure what went wrong but he gave it some through a wide puddle and it took off like a raped ass at least 20m and only came to a stop in a 4ft ditch!!
Shame I didn't have the GoPro with me....
